Autumn makes first attempts in Moscow region...

...But it’s a little bit early for summer to surrender. MOSCOW, 19.08.2005 /SKYWATCHING/ The ridge from Baltic Sea has been spread eastwards, so, as a result, cold air from the upper latitudes has come to Moscow region. Yesterday’s highs in the region reached 19-21°C only, and during last night under the clear skies temperature dropped to 6-10°.

Moscow rains, Domodedovo leads...

MOSCOW, 01.07.2005 /SKYWATCHING/ Yesterday the most rainy place in Russia was not far from its capital. According to national weather service, international airport “Domodedovo” accumulated 87 mm of rain (including 81 mm collected during last night). Fortunately heavy rains didn’t cause any flash floods, but, anyway, situation on some roads is a little bit complex. Meanwhile rainy low pressure system drifts away heading to NE, but very slowly. Moscow still gets new portions of short intensive rains, so we expect more large numbers of precipitation amounts till the rest of Friday.

Another rainy day

MOSCOW, 30.06.2005 /SKYWATCHING/ Low pressure system caused more rains in Moscow region today. Dull gray skies with drizzle from Ns/St cover and more showers from embedded Cb’s… So, center of that low today is very close to Moscow and drifts very slowly to ENE, promising one more wet day. Today some weak thunderstorm activity was recorded only in the south of Moscow region. Amounts of the rainfall are various for different parts of region. More water was recorded in Mojaysk (western part of Moscow region): 5 mm during last night plus 13 mm during the daytime. In Dmitrov that is further from center of the cyclone during last 19 hours was recorded only… 1 mm.
